Westland Books to Publish Superstar Sridevi’s Biography

The official biography of celebrity Sridevi will be published, according to a statement made by Westland Books on Wednesday. The book "Sridevi: The Life of a Legend" paints a detailed image of the star who dominated the commercial film industry in the 1980s and 1990s.

According to the publishing firm, it is written by novelist Dhiraj Kumar and will be published this year.

"Sridevi was a powerhouse. She was happiest when she engaged her followers in a live performance of her work, but she was also a fiercely private individual. She saw Dhiraj Kumar as a member of her family. He is a columnist, writer, and researcher. We appreciate his publishing a book that captures her remarkable life, "The late actor's spouse, the director Boney Kapoor, remarked.

The iconic performer appeared in more than 300 films in the following languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi during her five-decade career. In 1978, she made her Bollywood debut in the prominent role of "Solva Sawan."

Sridevi, who passed away in 2018 at 54, received several honors, including the Padma Shri, National Film Award, and Filmfare awards.

"I'm thrilled that the esteemed Westland Books will publish my first book. This was made possible by my literary agent, Anish Chandy. I appreciate Boney Kapoor and his family's approval and that of Suryakala, Maheshwari, Karthik, Reena, and Sandeep Marwah, "Dhiraj Kumar, the author, remarked.

Publishers claim that the book would help people rediscover Sridevi since it is a 360-degree portrayal of the icon.

"The extensive amount of study that went into this book is what drew us to it. Due to his acquaintance with Sridevi and her family, Dhiraj Kumar can provide a unique window into the highly private star's life. Readers of this book will rediscover an icon, "declared Westland Books executive editor Sanghamitra Biswas.
